Father and son team Ingvar and John Grimsmo have been in business together
for almost 10 years. Creating, producing, and selling Trade Analyst,
as well as live trading with it, has been their biggest challenge yet
together.
Hello
traders! My name is John Grimsmo and I'm very excited to finally
release this program to the public. We first created it back in 2005
to analyze our own trading, but then we got busy with other work and it was
stored on the shelf. It wasn't until early 2007 when we found it again
and had the time and energy to take another crack at it.
I've
been doing website development for almost 10 years,
creating diverse
sites for lawyers, architects, schools, museums, and businesses of all
sizes. It's fun and I really enjoy the creativity, but when my dad
asked for my help on this TradeAnalyst project I couldn't turn it down!
The stock market in general has always intrigued me. In 2002 we
started trading futures and e-minis, lots of paper trading and light live
trading, mostly just to get a feel for the markets and how everything
worked.
After many months of playing around we began trading with some
real money. Unfortunately, the fun didn't last very long, so we went
back to our "real" work. Soon enough we caught the bug again and
started trading the forex markets. After losing quite a few I asked my
dad "why do you think we're losing?". I could see the programming
gears inside his head start turning and the very next morning he had the
first crude version of TradeAnalyst to show me!
Even today the basic idea behind the program
still holds strong, it will show you what aspects of your trading make you
money and which ones lose. If you can eliminate the losing ones you have
instantly become a more efficient trader!
My
role in the creation of this program has been beta testing, developing the
website and marketing the software. It's been a very exciting journey!
The Forex Trade Analyst is written in
Visual FoxPro.
